In 1991 they issued a letter stating that they don't have any stance either way on sexual orientation of it's members. They have a don't ask/don't evangelize policy in regards to sexual orientation. And just a few years ago they also stated that transgender children who present themselves as female are also accepted in to GSA, no questions asked. They have a similar policy on religion, no one is forced to participate in prayer and those who do not are not negated in any way. Also girls of different faiths are allowed to substitute their deity for the "god" in any recitation. Should gay boys be allowed in the Boy Scouts of America? "It seems that there are some major misconceptions out there. The State Heath Department could help shed some light that gays do not cause these diseases for one. Also that all of those dieseases have been spread by all heterosexuals and homosexuals. To says gays carry these as a whole is plain ignorant. As far as being a tax burden, Gays have a more disposable income which generates taxes. As far as the heterosexuals who have children who are in need of government assistance and abusing taxpayer programs that exist today. The strain on these goverment assistance programs like welfare, medicare, social security isn't solely coming from homosexuals. As far as civil rights, Mexican Americans were segregated in schools, where to vote, African Americans were segregated on the same and who they could marry for a time, Women were not given equal rights in jobs and right to vote. These groups are no different from the Gay Americans who want the same rights as the groups that came before them. Who are born in this country and should be protected by the same Constitution and BIll of Rights as you! Segregation from an organization like the BSA breeds fear, ignorance, and dishonesty. If the BSA does not allow LGBT youth to participate, they are setting a bad example for future youth. As far as a choice, I did not choose to be who I am. If it was a choice some of us would choose an easier route so we would not have to be accustomed to ignorance, inequality, and ridicule. We cannot choose who we love the same as we cannot choose our skin color or who our parents are. Regardless if you see it as a movement or not, LGBT will not stop fighting for what is right, I will not stop fighting for what is right not just for me or the next group of Americans who are disenfranchised. You see that is what is great about our country. It was founded on FREEDOM and LIBERTY for ALL and will be ever changing in the hundreds of years it has been established. With whoever being the majority this country will continue to change. EVERYONE BORN in this country has earned the RIGHT for Equalities, Freedoms, and Liberties. To think otherwise is un-American. You could see that Paul said he would've participated in a run-off, if you were paying attention. If Mr. Rachid would have won, why didn't he? Why was he 3rd? How did Mr. Armstrong and Mayor Polasek split the vote exactly? Did they go in close to 3,000 times to vote??? No, they didn't. Maybe more people should have gotten out to vote so Paul could have won with over 51%. Blame those that did not vote. Blame the charter.
